Our company history goes back to 1996 which makes us one of the SEO companies with the longest track record in San Diego, California.
blue media was founded by Dr. William Sen (a Software Engineer with a PhD in information sciences) and started as a sole proprietor in 1996 by developing websites for small size businesses such as media publishing houses, law firms, clinics, and construction businesses.
Between 1996-1999, during the IT boom, blue media became a part of several online marketing and software companies, and white labeled their products by providing a team of software & website developers and web designers.
blue media, under Dr. Sen, continued to provide services for many large enterprises and investor-driven international website portals and international brands such as BMW, Mercedes, Roomba, and Lockheed.
In 2001, Search Engine Optimization as a service was added to the portfolio. Soon, the enterprise started to help other businesses create leads through search engines — at that time, SEO was called “Web Positioning” and blue media was amongst the very few agencies worldwide that provided this service.
In 2003 blue media acquired its first large client, Procter & Gamble. The company was responsible for Procter & Gamble’s fragrance websites such as Hugo Boss, Esprit, Bogner, Gucci, and many more.
In 2005, the company merged with one of the largest providers for social listening, and took the lead on software development and SEO marketing.
Within only 3 years, that company became one of 5 market leaders and successfully overtook competitors such as IBM and Salesforce from the social listening market, all thanks to an elaborate SEO campaign.
By that time, their software was rated one of the top SaaS solutions for Social Media Monitoring by the Fraunhofer Institute and was recognized by Forrester Research.
During that time blue media was able to provide elaborate SEO solutions for companies such as Bayer, Ford, T-Mobile, PwC, and introduced SEO solutions to companies such as DHL, Easyjet, Microsoft, Philips, Mercedes Benz, Swarovski, Sony, Goodyear, Audi, Germanwings, Bosch, IBM, LG, and many more.
In 2015, the merger ended, and afterwards the company was successfully transferred to the number one market leader VICO Research, where as of 2019 our SEO campaign is still an integral part of their marketing strategy.
