Scam Alert – Protect Yourself from Impersonation Scams

Scam Alert from May 2026

Blue Media Marketing, Inc. are currently being impersonated in a sophisticated Task-Based Job Scam.
Scammers are using our brand to trick individuals into a fraudulent employment scheme involving fake dashboards and “optimization” tasks. While we have reported these activities to infrastructure providers like Tencent Cloud, their automated responses have failed to address the actual criminal activity happening on their servers.

The following blog post is designed to warn potential victims and provide a clear explanation of how this specific job scheme operates.

How the Scam Works

This is a “Task Scam.” It does not involve real marketing work; instead, it uses a psychological trap to steal your money.

  • Victims are typically contacted on WhatsApp or Telegram by someone claiming to be a recruiter for Blue Media Marketing. This is a fake, we never contact people through WhatsApp or Telegram.
  • Victims are directed to a website (often with a suspicious URL, e.g. goblue mediaboost.com) that features a professional-looking “dashboard” illegaly using our logo and images. This dashboard is a complete fabrication designed to show you “earnings” and “commissions” that do not actually exist.
  • The “Task” Trap: You are asked to perform simple tasks, such as clicking buttons to “optimize apps” or “boost products”. These tasks are fake.
  • Eventually, your “dashboard” will show a negative balance or a “special task” that requires you to deposit your own money to continue. The scammers promise that once you deposit the funds, you can “withdraw” your entire balance plus a massive bonus.
  • Once you deposit any money, the scammers freeze your account, demand “taxes” or “verification fees,” and eventually cut off all communication.

Evidence of the Fraud

Our analysis of the scammer’s infrastructure highlights several key pieces of evidence:

  • When we reported these sites to hosters like the Chinese company Tencent Cloud, they issued automated responses rather than investigating the job fraud, allowing the scammers to remain active. Tencent Cloud is known for being used for scam activities.
  • The “work” platforms shown in screenshots are coded with fragmented scripts designed to simulate financial growth while actually just capturing user data and deposits.
  • Scammers are sending emails and messages that look like they are from us, but they are most likely coming from spoofed servers.

Important: We Are Not Hiring This Way

  1. We do not hire via WhatsApp or Telegram.
  2. We will NEVER ask you to pay money to start a job.
  3. We do not have a “Task Optimization” platform for freelance workers.

What to Do If You Are a Victim

  • Stop all payments: Do not send more money to “unlock” what you have already lost. You will not get it back by paying more.
  • Contact your bank: Immediately report the transactions as fraudulent.
  • Report the Scam: File a report with the FBI IC3 or your local cybercrime unit.

If you have contacted us recently because you realized you were being scammed, please know that we are doing everything in our power to have these fraudulent sites taken down. We are deeply sorry that these criminals have used our name to cause you harm.

Status of Our Efforts

Here is the status of our efforts:

  • We identified that the fake site is using servers from Shenzhen Tencent Computer Systems Company Limited in China. We reported the abuse to them at www.tencentcloud.com/report-platform, but they have done nothing to take the site down. Our research revealed that Tencent Computer Systems is most likely supporting scam websites and it’s part of their business model.
  • We have submitted a report to Google at safebrowsing.google.com/safebrowsing/report_phish/ and Google removed the fraudulent site from their search engine results. However, this may not stop the scammers, as they do not rely on Google Search to find victims.
  • We have submitted the crime to the FBI’s Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3) and waiting for a response.
  • We have submitted a complaint to ICANN through https://icann-nsp.my.site.com/compliance/s/abuse-domain, provided evidence of their scam, and also have shown that the registrar and hosting provider from China (Tencent) has not done anything to prevent this scam.
  • The website is hotlinking our URL, so we are constantly trying to block their hotlinking efforts by blocking their IP and domain, however they seem to have automated crawling mechanism in place, and keep the site active through caching
  • The website is hotlinking our URL. We are actively blocking its IP addresses and domains, but it appears to use an automated crawling mechanism and caching to keep the site active despite those blocks.
