Blue Media, located in San Diego, California, distinguishes itself from other SEO agencies with its unique history and expertise. Co-founded by Dr. William Sen, a Software Engineer with a Ph.D. in Information Sciences, Blue Media’s roots trace back to 1996. This was when Dr. Sen first started offering web development and online marketing services, catering to a diverse clientele including media houses, law firms, clinics, and construction businesses.

During the IT boom between 1996-1999, Dr. Sen played a pivotal role in various online marketing and software companies, leveraging his expertise to white label products through a dedicated team of software & website developers and web designers.

His journey includes providing services to large enterprises and internationally recognized brands such as BMW, Mercedes, Roomba, and Raytheon.

In 2001, Dr. Sen expanded by incorporating Search Engine Optimization (SEO), then known as “Web Positioning,” into its services. This move positioned his company as one of the pioneering SEO agencies globally.

Further cementing its status, in 2003, the company acquired Procter & Gamble as a major client, managing websites for renowned fragrance brands like Hugo Boss, Esprit, Bogner, Gucci, and more.

That part of the company still exists today and is now known in Germany under the brand infospeed.de.

In 2005, Dr. Sen’s venture merged with a leading provider in social listening, spearheading its software development and SEO marketing. This collaboration propelled the company to the forefront, ranking it among the top five market leaders in just three years, surpassing giants like IBM and Salesforce in the social listening domain. This success was primarily attributed to a comprehensive SEO campaign.

By this time, the company’s software had earned high praise, being recognized as a top SaaS solution for Social Media Monitoring by the Fraunhofer Institute and receiving acknowledgment from Forrester Research. During this period, Dr. Sen’s expertise in SEO provided advanced solutions to major corporations including Bayer, Ford, T-Mobile, PwC, and introduced SEO strategies to DHL, Easyjet, Microsoft, Philips, Mercedes Benz, Swarovski, Sony, Goodyear, Audi, Germanwings, Bosch, IBM, LG, among others.

As of 2026, the SEO campaign initiated by Dr. Sen continues to be a critical element of its online success. Marking a new chapter, Dr. Sen established Blue Media Marketing, Inc. in San Diego in 2018, continuing his journey in SEO under a new corporate identity.
